I am delighted to have taken up post as interim Head Teacher at Stowupland High School from the start of this term, while the Trust and Governing Body go through the process of appointing a permanent Head Teacher and will be working closely with Mrs Grimes to ensure continuity and a relentless focus on achieving the very best for all at our school.
I have over 20 years’ experience of working in secondary schools in Essex and London, with 12 years Senior Leadership and Head Teacher experience and significant experience within teacher training. I am also an English specialist and will be taking two Year 11 classes as they prepare for their GCSE exams.
I am looking forward to working with the school community and contributing to Stowupland High School bringing about ‘outstanding progress for all’. I will be asking all students to follow the school rules and to respect themselves, others and their community as this will ensure that we maintain a positive and focused ethos within which all students can flourish and succeed.
I am reminding students of the school expectations and non-negotiables in assemblies and have put a copy in this home bulletin for your information. I thank you for your co-operation and support in upholding the high standards that our students deserve.
It was a pleasure to meet a number of parents at the recent Year 11 parents and carers’ evening and I look forward to meeting Year 9 parents at this week’s option evening.
I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting students in my first week and thank them for the friendly and warm welcome that I have received. I had the great privilege of presenting the winners of the Mastermind competition and was very impressed with the knowledge displayed by students and the determined way in which they approached the competition. Good luck to Callum McKeon, Year 9, who won the school competition and will go on to represent Stowupland in the next round. I am also very much looking forward to bringing my family to the forthcoming performance of Aladdin this term. This is clearly a vibrant and exciting school, with a very strong and positive community and I very pleased indeed to be joining the school and the community of Stowupland.
