Transition Tasks

Science

Dear incoming Year 7’s

To get you ready to start learning science, we have some challenging summer science projects for you to do.

Choose one of the projects below. Click on each picture to find out the details. We would suggest only doing the bronze level.

Film and photograph what you do and bring it in during the first week to show your science teachers.

Merits and certificates for the best! We are looking forward to teaching you in September.

Kind Regards

Mr. Douglas

Library

I look forward to meeting all you new Year 7 students and welcoming you to the library in September.

Over the next year, I am challenging all school students to read 22 books as listed on the Bingo Grid. Students will be in with a chance to win prizes including sweets, books, stationery, games, puzzles and Amazon vouchers. There will be chances for partial completion of the grid at the Christmas and Easter holidays.

To get you off to a good start, you can begin the challenge over the summer holidays. Please click on the picture on the right to open the entire booklet, the Bingo Grid and 3 book review templates. To show me that you have read the book, I require that you fill out a book review for each book that you read to the end. You can do this by printing out the 3 reviews, if you can, or by emailing the school with your typed-up review. When you join school in September, you can pick up a printed-out booklet from the library for you to continue your reading challenge.

Where will your reading take you? Where will you adventure to?

Happy reading,

Mrs Shaw
