It was great to see so many year 5 and 6 pupils attend this week’s Aspire sessions.  Pupils worked with members of the PE and History Teams and completed some excellent work.  The pupils showed a great deal of maturity and determination in their approach and it was a privilege to see them enjoying this part of the transition to prepare for life in secondary school.  Well done to all involved!

On Tuesday, 20 Year 7 students were selected by the Maths team to take part in a day of revision to support their progress in Maths. The topic for this session was shape and angles and students were busy working on adding, subtraction and multiplication.  The next session will take place on 26th April.

Year 11 students took part in a PET Xi day on Thursday where they focused on preparing for their forthcoming maths GCSE exam.  Students were busy working on the regular and irregular shapes and really striving to answer some very challenging questions.  The PET Xi team were offering some very tasty rewards which were clearly motivating the students to succeed.  Well done to all involved and thank you to Mr Edgar for organising the day.   Students are working increasingly well to prepare for their exams and have their second set of mock exams to tackle in two weeks.  Revision books have now been ordered and handed out and revision sessions are well attended.  The first GCSE exam is now only 42 school days away, so thank you to parents and carers for your continued support in preparing our students and keeping them calm and focused.

I asked Mr Appleford to send me the names of the pupils in each year group who have achieved the highest number of achievement points last week and have the joy of giving out my first Head Teacher certificates since joining the school based on this information.   Well done to all who have received a certificate.
