After a spectacular performance at Stowmarket Rugby Club, the Year 11 boys’ rugby team are now West Suffolk Seven Champions! The boys played against St.Benedicts, County Upper, Mildenhall and Newmarket and won
every match. They now move forward to the County finals in March 2018. This is a brilliant achievement and we are delighted that sport is proving to be so beneficial to students whilst they face the challenges and stresses of GCSEs. The whole squad should be immensely proud of their achievements and we congratulate them all:
Cameron Heath; Aaron Thomas; Lewis Long; Josh Patterson; Jack Chevin; Euan Wright; Daniel Boston; Louis Fargher
Lucius Walters and Owen Jackson.

Having overseen the boys’ triumph in Stowmarket, Ms Walton was back in school by 7.00pm to lead the Celebration Evening for the class of 2017. This was a wonderful occasion giving us the opportunity to award certificates, present prizes and celebrate the contribution these students made to our school community. There was much applause and numerous photographs taken to go on display at school. We have listed the recipients of the “Special Recognition” awards below, but want to extend our congratulations to each and every student attending the evening:
Consistent Effort Award  –  Cara Monksfield
Progress Leader Award  –  Jared Hutchings and Rebecca Warnes
Progress Leader Attainment Award  – Manon Everard
Headteacher’s Resilience Award  –   Chloe Rogers and Phoebe Hayden
Student Endeavour Award  –   Poppy Faiers

And finally, despite coughs, colds and viruses, we have some excellent attendance figures. The “top”
form in each year group is as follows:
7CP 97.9%         8ANH 98.3%         9LM 97.4%         10AJH 96%         11GE 95.7%
Keep up the good work!
Mrs K Grimes
