General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

As you may be aware, from the end of May 2018, the rules regarding data protection changed.

The “General Data Protection Regulation” (GDPR) has changed how we can use and your child’s personal data and how we keep it safe, and has also strengthened rights over your own data.

This legislation came into force to make sure sensitive or private information about yourselves and your children stays safe. Whilst it is similar to the Data Protection Act in many ways, there are a few differences, so we have made a few changes at the school in order to ensure we remain compliant.

One of these changes is that we have updated our privacy notice.  This can be found below and on our Policy page.

Additionally, as part of our work to comply with the GDPR, we are also re-seeking consent for using photographs or videos of your child on our website, internal displays or other school materials/other consent request. Please find this form below, we would appreciate it if you filled this out and return it to the school.

All schools in the Trust are auditing the information we collect, process and store to ensure that we are GDPR compliant and an updated policy on Data Protection is also available on our Policy page.

In line with GDPR legislation, we have appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). This is a commissioned service from Schools’ Choice and the DPO for the Trust is Ms Sian Durrant who can be contacted at: [email protected]

If you have any immediate questions or concerns relating to GDPR, please contact the Headteacher in the first instance.
